FLEMINGTON, NJ - The Desmares Elementary School PTO planned a special surprise for its fourth graders Monday, visiting the students and surprising them with special gifts from the PTO.

The school PTO wanted to give the students a memorable last day experience to help them always remember their elementary school.

The PTO rented a bus, covered it with a banner on each side, and surprised all 82 students, cheering them on and giving them gifts from the PTO. On the bus were principal Carol Howell; vice principal Mark Masessa; school administrative secretary Linda Amato; fourth grade teachers Lydia Sokoloski, Alaina Gorka and Kristine Benz; yearbook photographer Corni Melillo; PTO president Ariej Dawood; and school mascot Flips.

Only the teacher of the student they were visiting got off the bus, and air hugs were given all around.

"The students' facial expressions said it all, it was out of this world," said PTO president Ariej Dawood. "The appreciation we felt from their parents was amazing."
