Scouting has something for the whole family. Boys and girls in Kindergarten through fifth grade complete adventures to gain an appreciation of the outdoors and build a foundation of character.

The Cub Scout motto of “Do Your Best” is always practiced in den meetings and pack outings. Traditions include pinewood derbies, Blue & Gold banquets, camping, outdoor activities, parades and service projects. Cub Scouting is not just for Scouts, but for siblings and parents, too.

BSA programs, for youth ages 11-18, offer a wide range of outdoor adventures in all seasons, including backpacking, camping, outdoor cooking, shooting sports, canoeing, rock climbing, skiing, and cycling. Scouts learn life and potential career skills through various merit badges.

The Scouting program is proven to prepare young people for life by promoting community involvement and citizenship, developing character, encouraging physical fitness, and practicing leadership skills.

While many know about traditional scout activities such as the iconic Eagle Scout project, many do not know about other Scout programs. Venturing is a co-ed program for youth ages 14 to 21 that emphasizes high adventure, leadership, personal growth, and service. In addition, Flemington is home to Police Explorer Post 49, a co-ed BSA program for youth that have an interest in a Law Enforcement career. The Explorers welcome youth ages of 15 to 20 and provided career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities and community service activities.

The open house will be held in the parking lot of Flemington Department store on Route 31.

In addition to the information that will be available, those attending will also be able to sign up for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring units.
