FLEMINGTON, NJ – There was never any question whether there would be new faces on Borough Council next year, because incumbent Councilpersons John Gorman and Susan Peterson decided to not seek re-election.

Competing for the two, three-year seats were Democrats Jessica Hand and Jeremy Long, who unofficial results released by County Clerk Mary Melfi show won with 308 and 296 votes respectively. They defeated Republicans Marc Hain, who received 285 votes and Saundra Scott, with 246 votes. Independents Alan Brewer and Alexandra Shore received 183 and 172 votes respectively.

There was also a race for a one-year unexpired seat held by incumbent Democrat Jeffrey Doshna. He was defeated by Republican former Councilperson Kimberly Tilly, 415 to 338.

Sandra Borucki won a three-year term on the K-8 Flemington-Raritan School District, running unopposed.
