READINGTON, NJ - It doesn’t take a lot of time to make a big difference.
That’s why the Hunterdon County YMCA is hosting Family Volunteer Day on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Family Volunteer Day is a day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods. Powered by generationOn and sponsored by The Walt Disney Company, this day of service helps families strengthen their bonds to their communities and each other.
Join the HCY for the First Annual Family Volunteer Day from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Deer Path Branch, 144 West Woodschurch Rd. here. Use Flemington for GPS.
Projects include assembling emergency toiletry kits, decorating cards and brown paper bags, making dog and cat toys, and creating no-sew blankets.
All projects benefit local organizations and all supplies are provided. Projects are appropriate for children of all ages, are family-friendly, and parents are encouraged to help.
Family Volunteer Day is free and open to the public. Register at www.hcymca.org/family-volunteer-day.
Volunteering is a great way for children and adults to make new friends, develop compassion for their neighbors, and even pick up a new skill or two.
For more information email Christine Coffey, Director of Mission Advancement, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 908-483-4326.
