RARITAN TWP, N.J. – The Raritan Township Committee received a report of a “clean” audit of its financial records at its meeting July 21.
The audit covered the periods ending on Dec. 31, 2018 and Dec. 31, 2019. It was performed by the accounting firm of Suplee, Clooney & Company, of Westfield.
In fact, the audit was so clean, Eric Zimmerman – a manager at the firm – noted they did not make any recommendations for changes. He noted the township may be the “fourth or fifth” audit he has observed that did not have any recommendations in the report.
The vast majority of the audit was done off site due to the coronavirus pandemic. Township officials were able to scan and send everything the firm needed to perform the audit.
Mayor Jeff Kuhl said the audit results show the good job township staff are doing.
The township committee unanimously accepted the audit results after they were presented.
