FLEMINGTON, NJ – A 68-year-old man has pled guilty to sex crimes that date back more than 20 years.
Wayne M. Brisson, of Saint Johns, Fla., pled guilty to second-degree sexual assault, according to a press release today from Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams.
Brisson was arrested on Feb. 22 after an investigation by the Williams’ Special Victims Unit and Readington police. Williams said Brisson engaged in sexual conduct with a victim under the age of 13 in Readington on multiple occasions between 1996 and 1997.
Brisson will face up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced by Judge Angela F. Borkowski on Sept. 13.
“In this case, justice finally came to the victim more than 20 years after the abuse,” Williams said. “We are committed to pursuing justice for victims of sexual assault, if legally able to do so, no matter how long ago the abuse occurred.”
