FLEMINGTON, NJ – A 51-year-old borough man has pleaded guilty to sexual assault and will be sentenced Nov. 1, according to a press release from Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams.
Carlos Zacarias, 51, pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree contempt of court.
Zacarias was arrested last year after a joint investigation by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit and Flemington police and the crimes took place over several months between Sept. 2017 and Feb. 2018, Williams said.
The victim was a child younger than 13 years old “for whom he had a legal duty of care,” according to the press release.
Zacarias was indicted by a Hunterdon County Grand Jury last year and he will appear before Judge Angela Borkowski for sentencing.
