RARITAN TWP., NJ – Police here recently released details on a string of arrests.

  • Patrol Officer Brett Szatkowski arrested Robert J. Smith, 36, of Hartford, Conn., around 11:43 p.m. May 22 after stopping him for making an illegal U-turn on Route 31, police said. Smith was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Justin J. Jantoro, 21, of Titusville, was stopped by Sgt. Robert Landolina on Route 202-31 around 1 p.m. May 23 for having an obstructed license plate, police said. He was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Speeding 70 mph in a 55-mph zone by Leonides B. Bones-Ortiz, 23, of Philadelphia led Cpl. Brian Sutherland to arrest the driver around 11:40 a.m. May 25, according to police. Bones-Ortiz was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and given a summons on a careless driving charge.
  • Raymond Whitlock, age 55, of Belle Mead, was arrested by Patrol Officer Robert Schenck after being stopped while driving on Voorhees Corner Road for speeding 50 mph in a 35-mph zone around 12:33 a.m. May 26, police said. Whitlock was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane, speeding and reckless driving. After processing, Whitlock was released to a family member.
  • Christopher Mitchko, 21, of Flemington, was arrested by Patrol Officer Connor Gallagher around 4:45 p.m. May 29. Mitchko was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, driving an unsafe vehicle and having unsafe tires.
  • Peter J. Custy, 18, of Flemington, was arrested by Sgt. Robert Landolina around 2:40 p.m. May 31 after police said he was found swimming on private property off River Road. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and given a summons charging him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
  • Police said Patrol Officer Adam Swiatek stopped Madeline Mondoro, 20, of Ringoes, for driving on Sand Hill Road without headlights around 11:12 p.m. June 1. She was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Passenger Kari E. Jensen, 20 of Flemington, was arrested and charged with possession of a fraudulent document (fake driver’s license).
  • Peter Alicandri, 55, of Flemington, was arrested by Patrol Officer Anthony Moreno around 11:58 a.m. June 2 after police were dispatched to ShopRite. He was charged with shoplifting $30 of store merchandise.
