RARITAN, TWP, NJ - Raritan Township Police have released information on a number of protective measures being taken with regard to reporting of incidents and more, due to coronavirus.
According to a post on the police Facebook page, residents may file non-emergent reports over the phone using the non-emergency phone number, 908-782-8889. They may then receive a follow-up phone call from an off-duty officer if additional information is needed.
Police said that if residents come to headquarters, they will be greeted from behind glass partitions, and, if paperwork needs to be exchanged, it will be passed through slots. This will include all forms of records requests.
Anyone who has had a fever or other associated symptoms is being asked not to come to headquarters.
The department will not be hosting tours at police headquarters for the next 30 days, and will be limiting the frequency of attended events, and respectfully request that residents do not visit at the present time.
In addition, the department said, fingerprinting and car seat inspections will be suspended until further notice.
All municipal court sessions are canceled until March 25 at this time, and people will receive a new court date in the mail.
