FLEMINGTON, NJ – A standoff in Clinton last night drew the county’s SWAT team in response, according to a press release from Hunterdon County Acting Prosecutor Michael J. Williams.
“The subject was taken into custody without incident at approximately 9:15 p.m.,” Williams said in the release. He called the incident “safely resolved,” but didn’t identify the subject’s name, age or sex.
The incident began earlier in the evening, Williams said.
In addition to the SWAT team, police from both the Town and Township of Clinton responded to the home.
“The officers and the SWAT team that responded today train vigorously for situations like this,” Williams said. “Their level of competency and commitment to their profession directly led to bringing the individual into custody without further incident or injury.”
The press release was issued jointly by Williams, his Chief of Detectives Frank R. Crisologo, and Town of Clinton Police Chief Cory Kubinak.
