FLEMINGTON, N.J. – It’s an ambitious goal: $100,000.
That’s how much the Salvation Army here hopes to collect in Hunterdon this holiday season.
The effort is already underway. The Red Kettle campaign will include bell ringing at stores across Hunterdon through Dec. 24.
All proceeds go directly to help those in need in the community.
“We are encouraged and overwhelmed by the generosity of our community each year,” said Lt. Adam Boynton in a press release. “It is that generosity which allows us to continue our work to change lives every day.”
Boynton is always seeking volunteers to help reach the goal and serve others. To volunteer or get involved, phone him at 908-237-9008, or send an email.
Nearly 30 million Americans receive help from the Salvation Army each year without discrimination. An evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, 85 cents of every dollar spent goes to support services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
