SOMERVILLE, NJ – Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, Inc. is offering rewards of up to $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) involved in the recent non-fatal shootings that have occurred in the Somerset section of Franklin Township between April 20 and May 1.
The most recent shooting occurred Monday night, May 1, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Police received a 911 call at 8:56 p.m. reporting gunshots in the area of Mark and Parkside Streets. Police found a 21-year-old man in the area of Millstone Road and Route 27, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his right forearm.
Officers provided medical aid to the victim, who was transported to a local trauma center for emergency treatment. The victim is not cooperating with law enforcement authorities, according to Robertson.
Franklin Township police on Wednesday announced an ongoing investigation into a fourth shooting incident; a 15-year-old boy was shot on April 22, at 3:30 p.m. near Matilda Avenue. The victim was treated and released from a nearby trauma center.
Somerset county law enforcement has now joined that investigation.
The victims in the other two shootings included an 18-year-old woman who was shot April 28 on Baier Avenue, and a 29-year-old New Brunswick man who was shot on Fuller Street April 20. Neither suffered serious injuries.
Police say that the female shooting victim was not the intended target.
