WARREN, NJ -  The Watchung Hills Warriors’ baseball and softball teams had mixed results in in their matchups against the Franklin Warriors on Thursday.

Max Parrone threw a five-hit shutout to lift the Franklin baseball team to a 2-0 win over Watchung Hills in Warren.

In his first varsity start after back surgery, Nick Isherwood allowed just  one unearned run on five hits with four strikeouts in five innings on the mound for Watchung Hills. Casey DeMarco gave up a run on two hits in relief. Tyler Riley got two hits for the home team..

In Somerset, Sarah Zullo struck out five and allowed three hits with one walk to lead Watchung Hills over Franklin, 7-1.

Jade Singh went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI, Sophia Cicchetti had two hits with one run and an RBI for Watchung Hills.

The Watchung Hills softball game against Gov. Livingston scheduled for Friday has been canceled due to weather.
