SOMERSET, NJ - The Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce held its fourth monthly networking meeting Tuesday morning, at one of the area's newest restaurants, the Punta Cana Grill on Hamilton Street.

Tuesday's event was an early morning meeting and attendees had the chance to talk business over breakfast.

"I encourage you all to tell everyone what you do, why you are here, and how people can connect with you," Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce (FTCC), President Juanita Painson said to attendees. "Also discuss the benefits you are bringing to the chamber, or what value you are adding to each member of the chamber and the public. It is not just us who you are connecting with (this morning) but other people that are around us and in our network."

Each attendee also had an opportunity to introduce themselves to the group and tell them what type of partnerships they are seeking.

"These networking events are critical," FTCC board member, and Imperia General Manager, Phil Mercado said. "I was talking with Leo (FTCC member) and he asked me how does someone approach someone in my industry to find out how his business can work with someone in my business...That is a good way to network with each other, and not just try to sell directly to each other, but (discuss) how do we penetrate each other's industry. I think it helps, instead of just sitting there trying to figure it out for yourself?"
