FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The wait is finally over, this weekend will kick off the start of Franklin Township's 2017 Farmer's Market.
Attendees can purchase locally grown and prepared goods, from fruits, vegetables, honey, flowers and cookies to wine, handcrafted dog treats and much more.
The vendor list is now available click here to find out more.
The township is sponsoring a community Farmers Market, that begins June 3 and continues through September 17. The produce supplied at the Farmers Market will come from local farms.
"Such a marketplace offers a forum for citizens to better understand the uses and benefits of those foods and products and the value of the agricultural community," according to the Franklin Township Community Farmers Market website. "It will educate consumers and schoolchildren about the benefits of small independently owned farms and help build a greater sense of community for the whole population."
The market will be held Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Demott Lane and Amwell Road, at the complex. The market will go on the road and take place at the Franklin Day Festival September 23.
The Township of Franklin recently announced the following information:
A couple of important items to note:
The market will be held on the field at the corner of Amwell Rd and DeMott Lane near the Municipal Complex. If the field is too wet to be used the market will be moved to the Municipal Complex parking lot (475 DeMott Lane) between Villagers Theater and the Community Center. Click here for the location maps.
This Saturday the produce vendors will have delicious strawberries, asparagus, bok choy, and lettuce. The variety of fruits and vegetables will continue to grow and change weekly as the growing season gets underway.
Check out the farmers market webpage weekly as there will be new vendors coming later in June and July. We will update the schedule weekly!
