NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The man who was stabbed early this morning was killed just steps from the safety of his home, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities have identified the victim as Enrique Perez Galindo, 29, of New Brunswick. He was pronounced dead at his Hamilton Street apartment at 2:39 a.m. today, Feb. 25.
“No arrests have been made, but authorities are actively searching for a suspect,” the prosecutor’s office said this evening in a statement.
Perez Galindo was approached by at least one suspect at 2:30 a.m. in the driveway of his apartment complex, between Woodbridge and Bridge streets, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Police said earlier today that two or three people had tried to rob Perez Galindo, which resulted in a fight.
An attacker then fatally stabbed the victim with what police have described as a “sharp object.”
It’s unclear whether he was killed by one person or a group.
