Wisniewski (D-19) from Middlesex County is one of four candidates who will face off in the June 6 Democrat Gubernatorial Primary. Following lunch and a short presentation, Wisniewski will answer  questions.

Wisniewski was first elected to the Assembly in 1995. He is a Deputy Speaker, chairman of the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee, and a member of the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee.

His advocacy on transportation issues has resulted in laws that expanded safety inspections of school buses, overhauled the Division of Motor Vehicles, and improved the safety of teenage drivers. Wisniewski has served as co-chairman of the Council of State Governments’ Eastern Regional Conference and has served as chairman of the Council of State Governments' Eastern Regional Conference's Transportation Committee since 2006.

The February meeting continues a monthly series presented in collaboration with the Somerset County Business Partnership and the Somerset County Governing Official Association. The three business advocacy groups have joined to provide an even stronger voice for the Somerset County by working together on a strategically planned speaker program to represent and advocate on behalf of the business community.

“The new collaboration is having a significant impact in Trenton, showing legislators and staff that Somerset County business means business,“ said John Anderson of JCP&L, co-chair of Somerset ELC. “Assemblyman Wisniewski is the first of the candidates for Governor to visit ELC with commitments from Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, (R-16)  and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno in the next couple of months.”

Registration is $30 and includes lunch and the business meeting. A cash bar will also be available. Participants are encouraged to register online by Feb.17 at at http://bit.ly/SomersetELCFeb2017 or by submitting a check or voucher in the name of Somerset County ELC to the Somerset County Business Partnership, 360 Grove St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807

. Walk-ins the day of event are welcome.

The statewide ELCs were established by NJ Business and Industry Association in 1959. SCGOA serves as a forum for exchange of ideas among elected, newly elected, and appointed municipal officials. The SCBP serves as Somerset County’s regional Chamber of Commerce.
