EDISON, NJ – Police charged an Elizabeth man with kidnapping, attempted murder and endangering an injured victim after meeting a Newark woman in that city last June, beating her, and then leaving her at the Raritan Center, officials said Friday.
According to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Mickey Vanderpool, 61, of Elizabeth, met the 30-year-old female victim and beat her in Newark sometime in June.

Police were called and she was taken to JFK Medical Center in Edison, where she was treated and released, according to the release.
Vanderpool is in custody and awaiting bail, police said.
