"The Progressive slate of candidates for the 17th legislative district look to gather an unprecedented one-third of the vote total for both State Senate and Assembly, even by being outspent dramatically and running off the party line. This is a stark contrast to only two years before and a testament to how voters want proactive legislators who'll stop dangerous fossil fuel infrastructure that threatens the environment and health of NJ residents.
Food & Water Action Fund is glad to have made 3500 calls, 3000 texts, and 1000 doors knocked to our Democratic & Independent members in the 17th District, educating them on the candidates' positions on fossil fuel infrastructure, renewable energy, and water privatization.
Even more heartening, both the Middlesex Democratic Organization and Progressive Democrats made the Transco fracked gas compressor station & pipeline major parts of their campaigns.
We look forward to working with Senator Smith, and Assemblymembers Danielsen & Egan in getting New Jersey Off Fossil Fuels and onto a 100% renewable energy path."
