Former White House CTO Will Discuss Cyber Security at NJ-GMIS Conference in Somerset

The 8th annual NJ-GMIS TEC 2017 conference will take place on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Palace at Somerset Park, 333 Davidson Avenue in Somerset, New Jersey.

SOMERSET, NJ -  The Palace at Somerset Park will host the 8th annual NJ-GMIS TEC 2017 conference this Thursday.
 
Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University Director and former Deputy US Chief Technology Officer, White House Office of Science and Technology Dr. Edward Felten will be the Keynote speaker. 
 
"Dr. Felten will discuss his tenure at the White House and as CTO of the Federal Trade Commission," according to a release. "He will focus on his broad expertise in cyber security and technology use issues, providing insight into his experiences in the federal government, the challenges new technology poses to governments, and observations about how government can improve its use of technology."
 
 
Forums on - Cyber Security including Threat Overview issues and Incident Response Practices; Management including Purchasing Technology and understanding Ethics and Conflicts of Interest; Communications including Digital Communications Practices and Challenges of eDiscovery; and Specialty Technology including Public School/Law Enforcement Crisis Mitigation/Management System and a discussion of the Information of Things (IoT), how ordinary objects are connected to the Internet, will be discussed. 
 
During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of technology products and services. 
 
Continental breakfast will be available beginning at 7:30 A.M. with educational sessions beginning at 8:30 A.M.
 
The fee is $50 for NJ-GMIS members; $75 for NJMMA, AEA, MCANJ, GoWPro, GFOAINJ, and NJSBA members; and $200 for non-members.
