SOMERSET, NJ - Franklin Township Board of Education voted 5-0 to extend the contract of Superintendent Dr. John Ravally's contract three years, through 2022.
Voting in favor of the extension were Nancy LaCorte, Laurie Merris, Ardaman Singh, Margaret E. Steele and Edward Potosnak III, absent from the vote were board members Christine Danielsen, Latee E. Walton-McCleod, and Patricia E. Stanley were absent during the vote and Richard Seamon abstained.
Ravally had three years left on a five-year contract. Ravally’s contract was submitted to the Executive County Superintendent and approved on May 17.
"It is in the best interest of the school district to provide for administrative stability and the completion of educational programs and projects and to minimize disruption to the school district," the BOE stated in its meeting agenda.
Ravally's new contract comes with an increase in salary from $177,500 to $196,584.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the board and the community, it has been a quick two years, I have really enjoyed the work and look forward to at least another five," Ravally said. "I think that we are moving forward at a rapid pace and I really appreciate your commitment to helping to bring some even further stability to the district. I really appreciate it."
