"Erin is a friend of ours and is an FHS alumni who built a career in comedy and is highly respected and reputable in the industry," WFLSF Co-founder, Daryn Plummer said.

The Renaissance Jazz Band will provide live music during the gala. Renaissance is a high energy Instrumental Jazz, Smooth Jazz and R & B band that features captivating musicians who provide live entertainment for just about any event, according to their website.

Key members from the Warrior for Life Scholarship Foundation (WLSF) attended the "Week of the People" event at Naaman Williams Park this past Saturday.

"Week of the People was a great community event," Plummer said. "The presentations and dance groups showcased our awesome community. We were able to connect with a number people that were not aware of our cause of raising scholarship funds for students in Franklin Township and we were able to give them information about our organization. Community members came by our booth and supported our cause by buying Warrior For Life t-shirts and/or wristbands. We also had one of our committee members, Rashana Evans, doing face painting so we connected with a lot of students and parents through that activity."

WLSF will increase outreach efforts over the next few months to local businesses in hopes to build sponsorship opportunities for the gala.

The group will be featured at a Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn which will be held at Pierce Street Bagel on Sept. 18. They will also have a booth at the 4th Annual Franklin Day Festival, in addition to attending October's "Trunk or Treat" event sponsored by the Hamilton Street Business District.
