FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - At approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, a dump truck caused a four vehicle crash on Easton Avenue causing traffic delays and a partial road closure, according to police. 

Police say, two victims were extricated from their vehicles by firefighters and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. 

Antonio Gomes, 58, of Linden was traveling southbound on Easton Avenue in a 1998 Freightliner dump truck, when it struck a 2007 Acura RDX from behind, according to police.

Francisco Camacho, 59, of Somerset and a female passenger was driving the Acura, according to police.

Gomes continued southbound and struck a 2017 Cadillac XT operated by Liqui Li, 28, of Lincoln, NE in the rear, according to police.

Police say, Gomes' dump truck crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a 2000 Isuzu FTR box truck operated by Luis Palacios, 50, of Jersey City head on. 

Police said, Camacho, his passenger, and Palacios were transported to an area hospital, and Gomes and Li were uninjured in the crash.

Gomes has been issued a summons for careless driving and is scheduled to appear in court, according to police.
