SOMERSET, NJ - Popular hair salon A Cut Above has relocated to a new location at Rutgers Plaza in Franklin Township, becoming the latest service-oriented business to join the tenant mix at this Somerset County shopping destination. Levin Management Corporation (LMC) serves as exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 266,000-square-foot retail property.
A Cut Above moved to Rutgers Plaza after operating for more than 30 years in New Brunswick. The hair salon provides a range of traditional services – including cuts, coloring, styling, extensions, braiding and weaves – and also specializes in hair replacement.
“Rutgers Plaza’s convenient location and ample customer parking were very attractive to us,” said Edith Younger, the salon’s owner. “We are looking forward to meeting new clients as we grow A Cut Above while continuing to serve our long-time clientele. Customers at this larger, beautiful new facility can expect the same quality service from the professional staff members they have come to know and trust.”
Younger plans to add a range of new services at A Cut Above, including waxing and facials/skin care services, in addition to hiring new staff to accommodate business growth. More information is available on the salon’s website, www.acutabovehair.net. A Cut Above can also be reached at 732-249-6885.
LMC’s Senior Leasing Representative Sidney Singer negotiated the 1,800-square-foot, long-term lease with A Cut Above. “Service providers, particularly hair salons, are integral to every successful shopping center,” he noted. “Like grocery tenants and restaurants, these businesses keep people coming back to a center on a consistent basis. A Cut Above is a high-quality addition to Rutgers Plaza and will contribute to the center’s ongoing success as a vibrant local shopping destination.”
Rutgers Plaza is located on Easton Avenue (Route 527) at the intersection of JFK Boulevard. Anchored by Stop & Shop, the property features a complementary lineup of national and regional tenants including Crunch Fitness, Dollar Tree, GNC, GameStop, Burger King, T-Mobile and Chase Bank. Two new restaurant tenants – Moral’s Village Hot Pot and Flame Kabob House – will open soon at the property as well.
For more than 65 years, LMC has served as a trusted single-source commercial real estate services provider for institutional and private owners. The firm today maintains a diversified, retail-focused portfolio of approximately 105 properties totaling 15 million square feet in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, offering leasing, property management, financial management and reporting, construction and development, lease administration, marketing services, and acquisition and disposition consulting services. LMC’s capabilities continue to evolve with new technologies, efficiencies and sustainability-focused initiatives to serve a new generation of properties, investors and tenants.
