FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Isaiah Wilson, age 25, from Bound Brook was arrested and charged with second degree, unlawful possession of a firearm, second degree, certain persons not to possess weapons, and fourth degree, possession of hollow nose bullets, according to law enforcement officials. 

"While conducting a “quality of life” investigation in the area of Martin Street and Shevchenko Avenue, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force along with members of the Franklin Police Department received information that Isaiah Wilson was in possession of a handgun," Somerset Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said in a statement.

Detectives observed Wilson walking in the area of Martin Street and Shevchenko Avenue, according to police.

During questioning, officers observed Willson to be in possession of an open container of alcohol, police say.  

According to police, Wilson was also in possession of a Springfield XDS .45 caliber handgun, loaded with three hollow nose bullets. The handgun was seized from the defendant’s waistband.

Defendant Wilson was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
