FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ -  The Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce appointed Rodney Robinson as Interim President and Phil Mercado to the Board of Directors.

"The chamber president is a job that requires depth of vision and strong leadership," Robinson said. "To the extent that I can bring such characteristics to the position, I believe the chamber's future is bright!" 

Robinson is replacing Michael W. Harris of Investors Bank, who resigned as president to accept a new opportunity.

"We'd like to thank Michael for his countless hours of selfless dedication, passion, and leadership," the Franklin Twp. Board of Directors said in a statement.

Robinson who is president of New Venture Benefits will fill the vacancy until the chamber's annual meeting, scheduled for May 18, at the Imperia.  

Mercado served on the Somerset County Business Partnership and will bring his experience to the FTCOC.  He is also general manager of the Imperia Banquet & Conference Center and Spring Hill Suites.

"Both Rodney and Phil bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their field and will be tremendous assets to our chamber as we further our mission," the Franklin Twp. Board of Directors said in a statement.

The chamber would also like to invite local businesses to come out to meet its new appointees and other members at their upcoming networking event, April 13, at Venus Jewelers.
