FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce had their first monthly networking mixer of the year, at the Financial Resources Federal Credit Union on Easton avenue in Somerset last Thursday, March 9.
Mixers like the one last week is a good opportunity for potential members to meet with existing members.
FTCC's board and membership committee are making a push this year to increase their membership while enhancing the services they currently provide to existing members.
"I plan to visit all the members of the chamber next month," Chamber Membership Committee Chair and Vice President, Juanita Painson said. "We would like to connect our members with each other and bring valuable resources to them."
Attendees had the opportunity to display their brochures and other marketing collateral from their business, and they also had the chance to give a "one minute" commercial about their business to members and non-members of the FTCC.
The mission of the FTCC is "to serve the business community and its membership by networking, advertising and providing leadership for the improvement of the economy and the quality of life in Franklin Township" and this year they are looking to be very active.
"We will probably have a breakfast mixer at the new Spring Hotel because we know everyone cannot do evening events and we are trying to be flexible," Imperia General Manager and chamber board member Phil Mercado said. "Our goal is to make the chamber a great resource for everybody."
The next chamber network mixer will be held at Venus Jewelers on April 6. There will also be a program event April 27 at a location to be determined, and the Chamber's Annual Meeting will be held May 18 (flyer listed below).
"We have a lot of wonderful events coming up," Chamber President Rodney Robinson said. "We have a wonderfully storied history that goes back 50 years. There are quite a few past members and current members that we will be reaching out to this year to get them more involved."
Local businesses are encouraged to reach out to Administrative Director Erica Correa at 732-545-7044 to host future mixers.
