FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The mayor and township council honored the Franklin Lady Warriors, Tuesday night for their Tournament of Championship win last month.
"We honor the 2016-2017 Franklin High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team and their coaching staff for their outstanding achievements and commend them for their display of sportsmanship and leadership," the mayor and council said in their proclamation.
Deputy Mayor Carl Wright re-told the moment as a fan of the team, and expressed the importance of teamwork:

The Lady Warrior championship team was also lead by Assistant Coaches Shamona Patterson and Alicia Kavanagh and Volunteer Coach Karl Gray.
Everyone from the team will return next year, except for Monique Davis-Campbell, a senior will attend Drew University next year, and is majoring in engineering.
The Lady Warriors became the 2017 NJSIAA Tournament of Champions winners with a victory over the Manasquan High School team thanks to a buzzer-beating shot from Kennady Schenck to win 50-48.
Diamond Miller, Camille Gray, and Monique Davis-Campbell were team captains. Lauren Vladyka, Tiana Jackson, Keona Schenck, Kennady Schenck, Kiersten McCloud, Kiara McCloud and Serena Jackson made were players. The team managers were Chloe Conover, Andrea Gallagher, and LeslieSalas.
Athletic Director Ken Margolin also mentioned there will be ring ceremony in June and encouraged the public to check the school's website for details. As soon as TAPinto Franklin Township receives all of the details we will publish them on our site as well.
