SOMERSET, NJ– Assemblyman Joseph Danielsen announced today, that he will partner with the Department of Veterans Affairs to host a veterans claims clinic.
“Too many men and women who were willing to put their lives on the line in defense of the United States of America essentially forfeit benefits that they earned and deserve simply because they’re unaware of what’s available,” said Danielsen (D-Middlesex/Somerset), who served as an Army reservist. “Reaching out to those who served is a critical part of meeting our obligation to ensure veterans receive the health care, education, housing and employment services they need.”
The clinic will be held May 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin Township Municipal Building, 475 Demott Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873.
The clinic will allow participants to receive information about benefits and entitlements, submit a claim for benefits or obtain information about the status of a pending VA claim.
Lillie Nuble, director of the VA’s Newark office, will be available to assist individuals who are interested in and eligible to receive VA benefits. State and county veterans service representatives and representatives from local organizations that serve veterans also will be present.
