Franklin Township: Exhibitors Sought for Employee Wellness Expo

SOMERSET, NJ - The Imperia will host the Somerset County Business Partnership's 3rd Annual Workplace Health and Wellness Exposition, Thursday, October 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

“Wellness Expo sponsors and participating businesses understand the need to build a healthier workforce in Somerset County and how a healthy workforce contributes to a healthy business environment,” Mike Kerwin, President/CEO of the Business Partnership said.

In support of Healthier Somerset and offered during Healthier Somerset Month, the event is being provided as a no cost business resource for local companies and their employees. As Somerset County’s premier health and wellness exposition, Expo 2017 will highlight the numerous benefits that can be gained by employers who implement wellness strategies as a component of their business model.

The event is being organized by the SCBP’s Workplace Wellness Committee, which comprises healthcare professionals and local service providers, who understand that wellness strategies are a proven tool that help employees gain greater productivity and effectiveness in the workplace.

Exhibitors interested in providing health screenings, healthy and nutritious food products, food preparation demonstrations, and healthy workplace information should contact Takeena Deas, Director of Community Affairs, at the Somerset County Business Partnership – 908-218-4300 or tdeas@scbp.org. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available to both members and non-members of the SCBP.

The 2017 Expo will provide employees, HR professionals, and business owners with key resources to benefit their staff and assist them with carrying out employer-based wellness programs. Among the initiatives to be presented are health screenings, health and wellness related exhibits, and a “how to” model for executing a wellness fair live-in-action. The information to be presented is appropriate for businesses of all sizes.

The Expo will offer interactive exhibits and health screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, cancer screenings and prevention, healthy weight, healthy diet and nutrition, foot and ankle care, skin damage assessments, and stress management conducted by health professionals from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Natural Medicine, Rehabilitation and Pain Management, Hunterdon Medical Center and other leading health organizations in the area.

UPDATE: According to a Nixle alert from the Bridgewater Township Police Department at 9 p.m., the investigation at the mall has been completed, and the mall will be resuming normal business operations.

Police emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the public and no injuries were reported.
