SOMERSET, NJ - Colonial Park Horticulture staff in collaboration with the Jersey Shore Rose Society will host a free rose pruning workshop at the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden March 13, from 9 am to 12 pm.  
Attendees will have the chance to prune roses after the workshop, so bring a pair of sharp pruning shears and gardening gloves.  A limited number of pruners will be available to borrow.
Registration for the workshop is required by Wednesday, March 28.  
Participants may register at the Horticulture Office at Colonial Park Gardens, Lot F or by calling 908-722-1200, ext. 5721, Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Individuals with a hearing or speech impairment may use the NJ Relay Service at 711.
About the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden
The rose garden is one acre in size and features over 3,000 roses of 325 varieties. From late spring through fall, the roses present a kaleidoscope of color, form, and fragrance.
Visitors can view popular modern hybrids, species, and various classes of Old Garden Roses. All roses are clearly labeled for easy identification and only roses that thrive in central NJ are kept in the garden.
