FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Incumbent Democratic township councilman Carl Wright emerged victorious in Tuesday's primary election, beating out challenger John H. Tibbs 724-256, according to unofficial results from the township clerk.
Wright will now run unopposed in the November 8 general election.
Democratic State Senator, Bob Smith (D-17), defeated Democratic challenger William Irwin 10,068 - 3,915, according to unofficial results from the Somerset/Middlesex County Clerks.
Smith will now face Republican Daryl Kipnis for the seat in the fall.
Democratic incumbent Assemblymen, Joe Danielsen and Joseph Egan handily Democratic challengers Heather Fenyk and Ralph Johnson by about a 2-1 margin, according to unofficial results from the Somerset/Middlesex County Clerks.
Egan had 9,576 votes and Danielsen had 8,991, according to unofficial results from the Somerset/Middlesex County Clerks.
Danielsen and Egan will face Republican challengers Robert Quinn and Nadine Wilkins in the general election.
Republican incumbent Freeholder Brian D. Levine and his running mate Brian Gallagher garnered 10,923 and 10,994 votes respectively, according to Somerset County Clerk unofficial numbers.
They will face Democratic challenger Alex Avellan and Councilwoman At-Large Shanel Robinson who had 13,960 and 14,221 votes respectively, according to unofficial numbers.
