SOMERSET, NJ - Franklin is home to many different voices, and some of them will gather to speak out against hate and violence this weekend.

The Franklin Township Interfaith Council is sponsoring a vigil to be held Sunday, Aug. 20, at St. Mathias Catholic church, from 8-9 p.m.

"We are deeply saddened and concerned by emboldened hatred and violence that is taking place across our nation with the latest (example) being Saturday with a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that resulted in 19 people injured and the death of Heather Heyer," FT Interfaith Council, President Dr. Alex Kharazi said in an email statement.

Local officials and community leaders are expected to attend the gathering. All are welcome to attend, and the FT Interfaith Council encourages the community to invite their friends, family, and neighbors.
