SOMERSET, NJ - Next Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. a children's workshop will be held at Colonial park.
The Horticulture staff at Colonial Park Gardens presents “Little Wigglers, How to Make Your Own Composting Bin" at the Colonial Park Gardens Stone Cottage, Parking Lot A.
Children age 5 to 12 (limit 10 children who must be accompanied by an adult) will learn about ‘vermicomposting,’ the term used for composting with worms. In the fun and educational workshop, children will learn the basics of vermicomposting; the benefits of recycling their kitchen scraps in order to make compost, and how to assemble their own “take home” worm bins.
The fee is $18 per child. All supplies will be provided. Pre-registration is required and may be accomplished online at www.somersetcountyparks.org or by calling 732-873-2459, ext 21 or the NJ Relay Service at 711 for individuals with a hearing or speech impairment.
