SOMERSET, NJ - The YMCA is coming to Franklin Township soon, South Middlebush Road closure will alter traffic patterns, and more committees have agreed to be televised, officials said Tuesday night. 

During this week’s township council meeting Deputy Mayor Carl R.A. Wright stated, “the YMCA is finally coming to Franklin Township.”

In his push for more transparency in government Mayor Phillip Kramer had one group say they do not want its committee/agency meetings taped, while three agreed, and two are thinking about it.

Kramer stated the decision of whether or not a public committee/agency can be taped or not belongs to the township council.

Township Manager, Robert G. Vornlocker reminded Franklin Park residents that want to attend Thursday’s public hearing on Catapala Park should leave early due to the scheduled road closure of South Middlebush Road.

Vornlocker also announced a free "Tick Talk" meeting scheduled for Wednesday, at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
