FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - A fatal crash involving a motorcycle rider and a parked car turned fatal Friday night, according to police. 

Son A. McCalla, 63, of Somerset was traveling on Hillcrest Avenue when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the rear end of a parked car, according to police.

McCalla was not breathing when officers arrived on the scene and they initiated life-saving techniques until EMS arrived, according to police.

EMS transported McCalla to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, according to police. 

Franklin Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau are investigating why McCalla lost control of his motorcycle.
