SOMERSET, NJ - At approximately 5 p.m. Thursday evening a Road to Success program administrator reported to authorities that a student may be in possession of narcotics or a gun, according to an alert sent from Franklin Township Public Schools.
“The school administration working in partnership with the Franklin Township Police were able to quickly isolate the student without incident,” the alert reads.
According to SCPO Director of Communications, Capt. Jack Bennet (Ret.) the incident is an ongoing investigation.
The Road to Success program is intended to successfully lead students towards their educational goals through the use of innovative teaching techniques, greater access to counseling services, more individualized course studies, unique program hours (3pm to 7:15pm) lower student/teacher ratios and a more supportive and encouraging school atmosphere, according to the township website.
