SOMERSET, NJ - Franklin Township Public School administrators, announced this afternoon on its website that all district schools will use Emergency Closing Days on March 16 through March 18. The message also said the district will use a Remote Learning Day on March 19, and parents will be updated with the next steps by March 20.
The full text of the message can be read below:
Beginning at 6:30 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 until further notice, there will be no athletics/extracurricular activities/events or other building usage of Franklin Township Public School facilities by the district or outside groups.
Monday, March 16; Tuesday, March 17; and Wednesday, March 18, 2020 will be Emergency Closing Days. All buildings will be closed to staff and students with the exception of our maintenance staff who will use those days to thoroughly clean our buildings and offices.
Beginning on Thursday, March 19, 2020, until further notice, FTPS will operate under the Remote Learning Plan and use Remote Learning Days. Students will remain home during those days. Staff members have been informed of their duties on Remote Learning Days. There will be no transportation provided by the district for any district or non-district school.
We anticipate utilizing Remote Learning Days through at least March 20 and will provide an update via a phone blast on the afternoon of March 20, 2020 on our school district status as we receive regular updates from local public health officials.
Superintendent Ravally has written a letter which has been sent home with your child today and is posted on the website with further details about the Remote Learning Plan.
