SOMERSET, NJ - An unidentified, 23-year-old local man was found shot in the area of Reler Lane and taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition, according to a release from the Somerset County Prosecutor's office.
The Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 1 am Saturday morning reporting shots fired in the area of Reler Lane, according to authorities.
"Upon arrival of patrol units, a 23-year old Somerset resident was found to have been struck by gunfire," Somerset County Prosecutor, Michael H. Robertson said in a statement. "He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition."
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes, Crime Scene Unit, and the Franklin Township Police Detective Bureau responded to the scene, according to authorities.
The investigation is ongoing.
Robertson, Chief of County Detectives John W.
