FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Franklin Township Police Department were alerted to a threat made to a Franklin High School (FHS) administrator on a social media website Monday, according to police.
Police say an anonymous individual posted a non-specific threat against the administrator. As a precautionary measure, additional officers were deployed to FHS, and investigators quickly determined that the threat was not credible and students were never in harm's way, according to police.
Director of School Management Orvyl M. Wilson said in a letter posted to Franklin Township's BOE website "Please know that both the district and local law enforcement officials take any threat to the safety and security of our schools very serious."
Police say there is an ongoing, active investigation by the Franklin Township Police Department’s Detective Bureau into this incident in an effort to identify the individual that made the threat.
