BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Two students from the Franklin Township School District were recognized during the Somerset Patriots’ “Most Improved Student Award” ceremony at TD Bank Ballpark stadium on May 18.
Dayshon Clark of Franklin High School and Ava Cespedez of Pine Grove Manor Elementary school were amongst students from Hunterdon and Somerset County schools to be honored.
The award-winning students received free tickets to the game for themselves and their family members and were invited as a special guest, according to a Somerset Patriot memo.
“This event is to recognize those students that have shown improvement in various areas throughout the school year including social, behavioral and academic categories,” according to the memo.
Clark was nominated by his School Counselor, Heather Danberry, “for his vast improvement during the 2016-2017 school year in regards to his behavior,” Danberry said.
Clark and Danberry were invited onto the field before the game where his name was announced with other students who had earned recognition.
