SOMERSET, NJ - All are invited to St. Matthias' annual carnival starting Friday, May 17, the event will run until Sunday, May 19.
Opening day has been delayed due to "field conditions are such that rides and some tents will be moved to the main parking lot," reads an announcement from the parish.
The family-friendly event will be held on their church grounds at 170 JFK Boulevard. Attendees can enjoy rides, food, games, and fellowship.

Due to the heavy rains and saturated grounds, we are moving Carnival rides to the parking lot. Opening day will be FRIDAY. If you had signed up to volunteer on Tuesday-Thursday, please sign up for this weekend. We still need many volunteers. Thank you!

* $1 Hot Dogs
Sunday, May 19, 2 PM to 9 PM
* Super 50/50 Drawing at 9 PM.
Ride tickets cost $1.25 each, or a sheet of 56 tickets for $50.
Advanced Ticket Sales: Buy a sheet of 20 tickets for $10 by bringing a check to the Parish Office. Last day to buy Advanced Tickets is MAY 9.
Rides require between 3 to 5 tickets each, depending on the ride.
* The winner will be announced on Sunday, May 19, at 9 PM
* Previous winners have won up to approximately $20,000
* Super 50/50 tickets cost $3 each or 15 for $45.
Carnival T-Shirts will be sold at the Parish Office and at the Carnival for $10.
