FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Do you like soup and encouraging literacy in our youth?
"Literacy and the sheer love of books is dear to our hearts and we are excited to sponsor "Sweet Reads" as our first charity event at Zoup," Charmayne Fleming, franchise owner said.
Zoup! will be offering up a bowl, of its "award winning soup and a big hunk of bread and a fountain drink for just $5" to patrons. All proceeds from the event will go to Sweet Reads to help with its mission.
Sweet Reads assists children in underserved and underfunded communities by providing free age appropriate books as well as conducting engaging literacy events, according to its website.
"We believe that an early love of and engagement with reading will assist the children we serve in every aspect of development, Tamiko Hubbard, Sweet Reads founder said. "Academic performance, imagination, creativity, compassion, and confidence can all be developed and strengthened through accessibility to age appropriate, diverse reading materials."
Zoup! is a fast casual soup restaurant which specializes in soups, made-to-order sandwiches, and salads. According to its website, each location offers 12 always-rotating varieties each day from its collection of hundreds of proprietary recipes. Zoup! also offers low-fat, dairy-free, vegetarian, spicy and gluten- free options.
If you can't make the charity event, don't worry, Zoup's! grand opening will take place August 10, at 11 a.m.
