The first Zoup! in New Jersey opened in Franklin Township late last summer, and during its first week partnered with Sweet Reads to help fight illiteracy. This month they are fighting childhood hunger with a company initiative supporting the “No Kid Hungry” campaign.

“Each store's goal is to raise $1,000, Charmayne Fleming, franchise owner said. “Our store has received over $300 within the first few days. New Jersey customers are generous.  It is important to note that 100 percent of all donations go to "No Kid Hungry."

Throughout January, Zoup! guests who donate $2 or more to No Kid Hungry, either online or in-store, will receive a coupon for a complimentary 8 oz. side of soup redeemable on their next visit.

No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit that is ending child hunger by breaking down barriers and connecting children in need to programs that offer nutritious food, teaching low-income families how to prepare affordable healthy meals and educating the public about the nationwide child hunger crisis.

Clinton and his wife Charmayne opened Zoup! of Somerset last year Aug. 10. Clinton, a graduate of Pratt Institute (NY) has worked over 35 years in engineering; Charmayne is from New Orleans and has worked here in New Jersey as an Administrative Assistant for UMDNJ, Johnson & Johnson and HIP over the past 20 years.
