FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - A solidarity prayer will be held at Temple Beth El, 1489 Hamilton Ave. Somerset this Saturday at 11 a.m.
"In light of the recent unprecedented increase in hate crimes against the Jewish and Muslim community across the nation the Franklin Township Interfaith Coalition is happy to announce we will host a solidarity prayer to reaffirm our commitment to unity and standing up for one another," Rabbi Eli Garfinkel and Dr. Alex Kharazi, president and vice president of the Franklin Township Interfaith Council said.
The council's mission is to: Enhance the acceptance of religious and cultural diversity, promote activities that foster socialization among members of various houses of worship, carry out community-based activities in support of values that are common among various faiths, act as a clearing house for engaging community and be a coordinator for houses of worship at times of national or local emergencies.
Representatives of Masjid-e-Ali and Temple Beth El, along with members of other religious and spiritual groups will pray together for brotherhood and peace between all America's ethnic, religious, and social groups.
All are welcome to come and join in prayer or to show support.
