FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Lady Warriors basketball team was honored by the Franklin Township community and the Board of Education for winning the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions, Thursday night at the high school.

It is the first T of C win in the history of the girl's basketball team. 

A meet and greet event was set up in the school gym, and students and parents throughout the district were invited.

Many members of the community accepted the invitation and came out to meet team members face to face to congratulate the champions. 

Some people brought basketballs, pictures, and posters to get autographed. There was even a chance to take pictures with the championship trophy.

After the meeting, the girls had an intimate dinner and celebration cake. 

During the BOE meeting Head Coach, Audrey Taylor was invited up to the dais to address the board and members of the community. 

"I appreciate these young ladies for their youth, enthusiasm, for their passion and also for just giving me the opportunity to lead them to this championship," Head Coach Audrey Taylor said to the BOE."I appreciate all the love and support everybody has given us it has been amazing I hope it continues, I hope we continue to grow from here. Again all I can say is thank you so much."

Each member of the team and coaching staff greeted BOE members and administration 

"I want to give a huge shout out from the Franklin Township Board of Education on behalf of all of us, the parents, teachers, and staff how very proud we are of both your accomplishments on the court and your academic accomplishments," Board of Education President Ed Potosnak said. "We are just so thrilled and proud the community of Franklin Township, the fire trucks that came out to greet you, down the the kids that came out to see you earlier today."

UNION, NJ – A Baltimore man ended up taking his own life in the Hillside Police Department after he was arrested for a suspected attempted carjacking in Union Friday afternoon.

Bridgewater Police: Avoid Mall for Ongoing Police Investigation

UPDATE: According to a Nixle alert from the Bridgewater Township Police Department at 9 p.m., the investigation at the mall has been completed, and the mall will be resuming normal business operations.
