FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ- Daylight Savings Time officially ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. Piscataway residents are reminded to turn clocks back one hour.
While most people look forward to the extra hour of sleep this weekend, the end of Daylight Savings time brings an earlier dusk. From now until the Winter Solstice on December 21, 2017, the amount of daylight hours will decrease slightly each day.
According to the NJ Division of Fire Safety, batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be replaced when clocks are changed. If the device is more than 10 years old they should be replaced.
