NORTH BRANCH, NJ - Pack a picnic basket, put the kids in their pajamas, pile everyone into the DeSoto, or the minivan, and head over to Duke Island Park on Old York Road in Bridgewater and Warrenbrook Pool on Warrenville Road in Warren Township for the Somerset County Park Commission Drive-In Movies.
Take the family back in time with drive-in movies just like in the 50's - complete with large screen. Admission is free. Refreshments will be available.
The 19th annual family event is scheduled for three consecutive Fridays, July 20, July 27, and August 3, 2018 with the show beginning at 8:30 P.M. each night. The films will be presented under the stars on a big screen in the Duke Island Park Band Shell.
July 20 – The Parent Trap – PG – Duke Island Park
Identical twins Annie and Hallie, separated at birth and each raised by one of their biological parents, later discover each other for the first time at summer camp and make a plan to bring their wayward parents back together.
July 27 – Kung Fu Panda – PG – Duke Island Park
The Dragon Warrior has to clash against the savage Tai Lung as China's fate hangs in the balance: However, the Dragon Warrior mantle is supposedly mistaken to be bestowed upon an obese panda who is a tyro in martial arts.
August 3 – Shark Tale – PG – Warrenbrook Pool
When a son of a gangster shark boss is accidentally killed while on the hunt, his would-be prey and his vegetarian brother decide to use the incident to their own advantage.
Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, for an enjoyable evening of family entertainment under the stars. Warrenbrook Pool invites guests to spend the day at the pool and stay for the film. Day rates apply for the pool and the movie is free. Refreshments are available for purchase at both facilities.
