SOMERSET, NJ - Visit the Franklin Township Public Library on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm for an exploration of the evolution of Santa Claus in art with Dr. Michael Norris.  Through centuries of art, much of it now in East Coast museums, attendees will explore how a Turkish bishop evolved into one of Christianity's most beloved saints. Then in American artwork, attendees will see Nicholas change again into Santa Claus.

Michael Norris, Ph.D., has given lectures for more than twenty years, especially in classical and medieval art, the areas of his expertise.  Dr. Norris spent twenty years at the Cloisters Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has lectured on trips all over the world.
