FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - There was plenty of holiday cheer and good company at Better World Market & Café located on 1743 Route 27 in Franklin Township. Better World Market & Café and Taking Tea InStyle hosted their first Holiday Pop Up Sip and Shop event on Sunday from 11a.m. to 3p.m. The event was free.  However, a donation of a new winter hat, gloves or scarf was suggested to be distributed to the homeless in the area.  Donations can be dropped off when visiting the store or on event day. “We plan on hosting various activities through out the year in our lounge area, we are having an open mic night next Sunday that will focus on Blues and Jazz,” said Steve Greenspoon co-owner of Better World Market & Café. “We are going to have continued activity in the lounge on a regular basis, Pop Up events will also be reoccurring.” There will be a toy give-away hosted by Young Divas with Purpose next week, where families in need of help can pick up wrapped gifts on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The lounge is a cozy space for people to come together, and there is a small play area where children can have fun while parents sit, relax and chat. Husband and wife team, Steve Greenspoon and Donna Simonetti are driven to ensure the community has a place to enjoy great food with healthy options. There is a small market offering a variety of healthy, organic, natural and local produce and specialty items from local farms and vendors. “When you come in here you don’t have to worry about what you are eating,” said Donna Simonetti co-owner of Better World Market & Café. Being a mother of two Simonetti wanted to make sure all of the products sold out of their market are free of chemicals and preservatives. There is also a coffee bar partnership with Hidden Grounds Coffee, and grab- and-go breakfasts/lunches in addition to free Wi-Fi.

The Holiday Pop Up Sip and Shop event had many vendors on site selling food, perfumes and accessories from KYSS, Origami Owl, P-Nuff Crunch, NHIM, Stacy's Famous Marys, Jams By Kim, LuLaRoe, Pure SheaNut, and many more! Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to sip on Belgian Chocolate Pleasure Tea and enjoy delicious baked goods while shopping for that unique holiday gift. Many of the vendors also had very interesting stories to tell. P-Nuff Crunch was founded by Dr. Juan Salinas, because he wanted to create a healthy tasty and delicious snack for all to enjoy. Origami Owl was created by a 14 year old girl that wanted to buy a Jeep for herself, so she decided to start a company to earn money. Ilé Olufunké is an African Home Decor company that specializes in African home decor. LuLaRoe is a company that employs independent consultants to sell, simply comfortable clothing for women and children. The co-host of the event was Sharon Levy, the CEO and Founder of Taking Tea InStyle. Ms. Levy is passionate about bringing civility and humanity back into society. As Program Director, she creates social tea gatherings, empowering and engaging workshops where individuals come together to learn and celebrate with each other. “Tea is the means for me to get people together to have great conversations, and a good time,” said Sharon Levy CEO and founder of Taking Tea InStyle. “It’s about pampering yourself, but also about pampering your friends and family as well.”

Better World Market & Café is a hidden gem in Franklin, NJ located on the corner of Route 27 and Skillman Lane. “Take a chance and come in once, and we are certain you will come back again,” said Greenspoon. The market and café are open seven days a week Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
